November 2024 Update! Second One!

Eyo all!
First of all, my apologies for the lateness of this update. It has been hectic the last three weeks, so time slipped me by. Not an excuse, but you deserve the reason. Life had slowed down a bit now, so I should be able to keep up!
That said, things haven't been hectic for nothing. I've got great news to share! From steps in community building to progress in the writing and lay-out process to new projects, collaborations and continuations. I'm very pumped to share this with all of you. So let's go through this with some bulletpoints:
Progress: Let's get the most important parts out of the way. Things have continued to go well and somewhat quicker than anticipated. The PF1e version is ready for typesetting and we're currently experimenting with art placement and layout, with DnD5e and PF2e's version making leaps and bounds as well. Many of the conversions are progressing with great speed (With all races/species having been converted in DnD5e, together with 3 of the 4 classes, for example), which is good news for all of you! Once the PF1e layout is done, we can take that one as a template for the other two, speeding up the process even more.
Artwork: We've been collaborating with the talented ArtCher to produce more art for Lugon's races and species. The book is going to be full of great pieces, making it a gem to look at. This extra art is coming out of my own pocket, so don't worry about having to pay more. The beauty is worth it! Take a look!
Community: We've created a Discord so that you've got a direct line with me and even some of the artists, editors and playtesters collaborating with the project. You can join the Discord here! See you there!
Lugon's Future: As some of you have heard, we're planning on releasing a GM Codex and Ecology Codex in the future. Things have evolved since the last update, however. We're now also planning on offering adventures between these big projects. It's still a bit dodgy in terms of budget, but we hope to launch another Kickstarter with a level 1-8 adventure early next year. Of course, the plan is to finish the Player Codex around then as well, so you can get a generous heaping of content!
Collaborations: Some of you might have ordered Fabled Battles and Warfare together with the Player Codex. Well, FAE Games and The Wanderer Games are going to collab again! We're planning on tackling social combat and interactions next, so look forward to that. Will keep all of you posted!
So this my update for now. Feel free to message or drop by on either KS itself or Discord.
Cheers,
Mark
October 2024 Update! First One!

Eyo all!
It's been a hot minute, but I come bearing great news! I'll keep it short and tidy, so have a couple of bullet points from me:
Progress: We already made heaps of progress. The lore and introduction parts of the project have been edited already, and the PF1e content is already ready to be put into the book. The DnD5e bits are also getting done in record time. The PF2e parts are going to take some more time as predicted, but all-in-all, we're steaming through ahead of schedule! Dice-wise, about a third have already been made, so that's going very well too. And... they... are... pretty!
Pre-Order Shop: The Pre-Order shop is open! We'll be continuing our streak there. If you know somebody that wants to chip in on the project but arrived too late, send them here! The stretch goals will stay in place there too, potentially allowing for the Improviser to join the fray as an add-on sooner. We'll also start to do cross-promos again to promote the Pre-Order shop to facilitate this. Share this link around if you'd feel so inclined:
Premium Art: There's more artwork on the way. The Iruk and Anor have some pretty new art, as well as the Pyrn. There will be one more artpiece requested, as promised in the stretchgoals. When they are done, I'll share little previews of them!
Post-KS Surveys: With the Backerkit side of things up and running, we'll send out surveys soon. You can add more goodies to your order and decide what version of Lugon you want.
Pretty Hard-Covers: So I was looking at the hardcovers. They'll be around 200 pages, so nice and stacked with content. But they were lacking something. A headband and a reading ribbon. So... I might've upgraded the books a bit. It has to look pretty in my bookcase, after all! And it won't cost you guys a thing.
Now for some slightly less positive news:
Drivethru RPG: Sadly, due to an incompatibility in the format of the book, we cannot use Drivethru RPG as a local printhouse at this point in time. At least, for now. We're going to see if we can make something happen for future projects. We're still going to try to get this book to overseas backers as cheap as we can.
For now, these are all the updates I can give. I'll do one update on the first of every month at the very least, but might do more if something interesting happens that needs to be shared. Communication is important after all!
Have a great week, everybody.

The Tenth and Eleventh Goal. A Grand Finale.

Eyo all!
And so ended Lugon's first successful Kickstarter run. A run that wouldn't have been a success without all of you. I am unbelievably hyped that we can work on this project now with such a nice budget. And like promised, most of the money will go towards improving this book, any leftovers will go towards starting on the second project: The Dungeon Codex. Like most of you probably would've guessed, this is only the beginning. We have a Dungeon Codex (GM/DM guide) and a Grand Ecology Codex (Monster manual) in the works. The names for these two books are still pending though, haha.
I've got some good news for those wondering what is happening with the two remaining stretchgoals that weren't met. Two points of good news. But let's begin with a nice visual:
Point 1: We've gotten multiple people asking to pledge after the run was done, so I am counting our little 6477 to be 6500+ instead! Which means two additional species will get some epic artwork.
Point 2: Multiple people have expressed interest in the Improviser. And well... I would be lying if I said I didn't want to give it to you. So we're going to see about getting this versatile class to you in some way-shape-form! If possible, we'd love to put it in the book, but that would require some more funds to cover the extra printing costs, so that's going to be tough. A PDF addon with the class (in one of the d20 systems, of course) for a small extra charge (I'm thinking 2-3 euros) would be appropriate, I'd wager. Still, if anyone has any ideas, feel free to leave a comment or DM me!
So with all of this out of the way, you can expect me to update you all at least once a month. Multiple updates might drop if we've got something extra exciting to share. As for those wanting more, there will be a pre-order shop up in the coming days, via Backerkit. If you want to grab an extra set of dice shinies or another book for a different system, that will be no problem at all!
Have a delightful weekend everyone. And thank you again. I'll be in touch soon!

The Ninth Goal, Final Sprint at 48 hours left!

Eyo all!
This post might be a bit soon after the last, but I want to give some previews about the stretch goals that have been unlocked and are still upcoming. I've opened up the rest of the stretch goal road map for these last two days, so go and look at what's to come!
As for the last stretch goal met, there's the Lugon Poultice expansion. For this I'll post a little preview of the mechanics involved with Poultices, to give you a nice idea. Basically, it's a little addition to provide more healing options during downtime in exchange for resources. It creates a nice little dynamic with risk/rewards, as we've found in our years-long campaign. We hope you'll like it as much as we do too! Do note that this preview is just that, a preview. This is not the final version for every system (this is built for PF1e, for example) and the wording/text is under heavy construction.
Next stretch goal: Ritualism feats! Allowing you to cast a wide variety of spells using ritualistic means. And it's feat-based, which means you can splash this onto a great many characters to give them that nice magical feeling.
All the best and thanks. We couldn't have done this without you.
Defy the Demon King and Put an End to Tyranny! Enter the cursed kingdom of Ashendire in Scourge of the Tyrant King! A wickedly dark adventure, filled with twisted monstrosities and diabolical secrets.
What's included:
100+ Page Adventure
15+ Menacing Monsters
5+ Powerful Magic Items
4+ Forsaken Locations
Made by Humans
The adventure is growing with Stretch Goals! Don’t miss the EXCLUSIVE Kickstarter adventure expansion; The Greedy Guzzler tavern. This bistro serves the most popular meals in town, and even though the curse has corrupted the cook, his famous food is still TO DIE FOR! This exclusive side-quest comes with a unique magic weapon, 2 detailed maps, and a grotesque mini-boss; Gribelly, the Butcher!
72 hours to go! All hands on deck!

Eyo all!
The final 72 hours have arrived. We'll probably hit the 5500 goal in the next couple of hours, and we hope to hit a couple more stretch goals in this last sprint.
We've revealed the last couple of stretch goals for you all to see what we're working towards and I've got a nice little preview about the Improviser, the class that'll be unlocked if/when we hit 7k.
The Improviser is an entirely nonmagical class with unparalleled versatility. It uses improvised weapons as its primary means of attack, gaining different Improvisational Tricks along the way. These tricks can be almost anything. From gaining a flyspeed by clever use of hookshots to cobbling together armor that explodes into the opponent's face to fielding magnetic caltrops that chase metal-wearing opponents (or friends if you're not careful) down.
Hope this gives a last good burst of hype. It would be a great last addition to the book! Thank you all so far for your help, you're all the best.
All the best and enjoy your week,
Mark

In this pre-final update, we have a couple of fellow creators that we would love to shout out to. A rising tide lifts all ships!
Within a story built to minimize prep time without sacrificing quality you are encouraged to explore a world above the clouds in a unique node-based adventure.
Picture a world where islands float in the sky, held aloft by ancient unknown magic. The Skylands entice bold adventurers to unveil their enigmatic peaks, navigate perilously unknown islands, and discover unimaginable treasures. Your party, shipwrecked and marooned on an unfamiliar island, must find a means of escape. However, the Skylands are not for the faint-hearted. In their quest for freedom, they will encounter scavengers, crafty smugglers, and influential factions vying for dominion over these airborne realms. Sailing through the treacherous Dire Strait is a trial of skill and bravery. Here, the sky teems with danger; colliding islands, formidable pirates, and mythical creatures await those who dare to cross. They will require a rare Skymap to navigate these hazardous waters. Will they dare to brave the demon-cursed island of Iblis for the secrets it conceals, or will they find another way to reach their goal? Will they join forces with the noble Chancery, or align themselves with the cunning Morr Holdings? Regardless of their choice, they will shape the very fate of the Skylands.
The giants of Gorgonia are on the rampage and you, as a newly inducted assassin of the Claw of the Raven, a chapter of the assassin's guild dedicated to the termination of titans, have the opportunity to raise your reputation. Can you kill a colossus in a surprise round and become the Killer of Giants?
Killer of Giants is a DnD 5E game of gaining knowledge. In the lead up to the hit, you attempt to learn an accurate stat block of your target. A trip to the library may reveal damage vulnerabilities or immunities (although a bad roll may misinform you). A trip to the armoury gives you access to thousands of traps to craft. An interview with an eye witness may reveal the weapons the giant uses. Tracking your prey may reveal how strong they are. Stalking your prey may reveal the perfect place for traps and where and when to strike.
If you like playing with other creatures than the Lugonese monstrosities, this is an excellent option! Check it out here!
The Book is an illustrated guide to traditional card and dice games. Inspired by historical gambling and based on card games popular in different countries and eras, it has been structured into a book to enhance your gaming experience in 5E , RPGs, TTRPG games.
